Itinerary

Amritsar the city of Golden temple and heart of Punjab culture and known for its exotic food and vibrant culture, Arrival and check in the hotel. Early afternoon proceed to Indo-Pak border point at Wagah to witness the Flag Lowering ceremony. The two flag posts are located contiguous to the boundary line between the two gates and as a matter of fact, the Wagah check-point is about mid-way between the cities of Lahore in Pakistan and Amritsar in India, each about 25 kilometers away. Both BSF and the Pakistan rangers try to outreach each other in lowering and folding the flag with patriotic songs and stiff moves by the troopers which is indeed a lifetime experience. Return to Amritsar for overnight stay. ;

Start the morning with the blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib or the Golden Temple in Amritsar which is the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. It was built by the fifth Sikh guru Guru Arjan Singh in the 16th Century and has an impressive golden structure in the middle of a manmade lake or sarovar. There are four doors to get into the Harmandir Sahib, which symbolize the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions. A meal at the Guru ki langar is highly recommended. Later visit the adjoining Jaliwalan Bagh allianwala Bagh which is a memorial to the countless numbers of innocent Indians which were massacred by General Dyer in 13 April 1919. Also explore the Durgiana temple and shop in the quaint old town known for textiles, handicrafts and food. Afternoon check out of the hotel and proceed for your onward destination .;
