Ashtha Vinayak tour is a comprehensive itinerary that encompasses eight important Vinayaka temples in Maharashtra around Pune area. Dedicated to the legend and legacy of Lord Ganesha, the tour includes the visit to temple at Varad Vinayak (Mahad), Ballaleshvara (Pali), Mahaganapati (Rajangaon), Chintamani Vinayak ( Theur), Siddhivinayak (Siddhtek), Moreshwar (Morgaon), Vigneshwara (Ozzar) and Girijatmaj (Lenyadri). As per the Puran and Shashtra, one needs to start with Moreshawar followed by the rest and interestingly all the temples are located within a range of 20 to 100 kms apart and can easily be done in 2 days by all age groups.

Met upon arrival at Pune Airport / Railway Station early in the morning and then proceed to Morgaon to start the tour with Moreshwar temple. This temple which looks like a tiny fort is located by the side of Karha river. Later proceed to Theur to visit the Chintamani Vinayak - one who brings peace of mind & drives away all perplexities of the mind. It is also believed the at this very place, Lord Ganesh helped Lord Brahma to achieve solace to his troubling mind. After lunch proceed to Siddhatek located along the river Bhima and the Siddhivinayak at Siddhtek is considered an especially powerful deity as it is believed that it was here on the Siddhtek Mountain , that Vishnu acquired Siddhi. Later proceed to Ranjangaon to visit the Maha Ganpati temple which is the most powerful representation of Lord Ganesh with eight, ten or twelve arms. As per puranas after invoking this form of Ganpati, Lord Shiva vanquished the demon Tripurasur and the hence the deity is also known as Tripurarivade Mahaganpati. In the evening proceed back to Pune for night stay. ;
After Breakfast proceed to the Vighneshwar temple at Ozar. Vigneshwara literally means remover of all obstacles which he achieved by vanquishing the demon Vighnasura. After darshan checkout of the hotel and proceed to Lenyandri which is denoted as Jirnapur or Lekhan Parbat in Ganesh Puran. The Girijatmaj Vinayak temple at Lenyadri is located on a hill and is actually set in a Buddhist cave which makes it unique in every way. After lunch, drive to Pali to visit the Ballaleshvara temple. This is the only Ashtavinayak temple where Ganesh is represented by the name of his devotee and is dressed up as a brahmin. Finally, drive to Mahad which is located in a hilly region of Konkan and Ganesha as Varad Vinayak fulfills all desires & grants all boons. A nandadeep has been lit in this temple which has been continuously lit since the 1892. Seeking the blessings at Varad Vinayak temple, its time to proceed to Pune to be transferred to the railway station / airport for homeward journey. ;
