Haridwar literally means Gateway to Vishnu and at the same time Har- dwar means Gateway to Shiva. This place is one of the Saptapuri or the 7 holy cities in the Hinduism and one place where one can experience the bliss of Shivalik Himalayas alongside the holy Ganga. One can explore the numerous temples or attend the grand evening Ganga Artis or just simply immerse in oneself at one of the Ashrams of Rishikesh which is known as the Yoga Capital of the world.

Early morning drive for about 248 kms to Haridwar, located in the foothills of Himalayas (Shivaliks) and the place where Ganga touches the plains after an arduous journey in the hills. This is the place which is blessed by the Trinity – Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and literally means the gateway to Vishnu (Badrinath) and Shiva (Kedarnath). On arrival check into the hotel. Later proceed for temple tour of Daksh Temple, Pawan Dham and Moti Bazar. Afternoon visit Har Ki Pauri to witness the magnificent Ganga Aarti on the banks of Ganga. Rest of the day free to explore the bazaars of the town. located on top of a hill called the Bilwa Parvat. One can reached the temple, by the rope way or one can take the normal trekking route to the top. ;

Morning you can take holy dip in the river ganga preferably at the Har-ki-Pauri which is considered as one of the most sacred ghats of India. Later return to the hotel for breakfast. Later explore the Mansa Devi Temple by cable car followed by Bharat Mata temple and Shanti Kunj Ashram. Later proceed to Rishikesh which literally means the town of saints, sages and scholars. Rishikesh is a rare religious center located on the right bank of river Ganga with numerous Ashrams and World capital for Yoga. Upon arrival visit the Triveni Ghat, ISKCON temple, Lakshman Jhula area and in the evening explore the Ram Jhula area and reach Parmarth Niketan on time to witness the grand Ganga Arti at Parmarth Niketan. Return back to Haridwar for overnight stay. ;

Morning time permitting have a second dip in the Ganga and do some more temple darshan before checking out of the hotel and proceed back to Delhi and later dropped at the railway station / airport for homeward journey. ;
